SFEM 2026 Information Note

The Korean Society of Forest Management and Information is pleased to announce that SFEM 2026 will be held at Kyungpook National University in Daegu, Korea, from August 5 to 7, 2026. The symposium will bring together researchers, graduate students, and practitioners from Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Philippines and other countries to exchange recent research findings and discuss future cooperation in sustainable forest ecosystem management.

Since 2013, the Sustainable Forest Ecosystem Management (SFEM) symposium has served as an annual international academic forum centered on Korea, Japan, and Taiwan. The symposium provides a venue for addressing complex forest management issues through data science, mathematical modeling, forest planning, and decision-making methods.

SFEM has addressed a wide range of topics, including the balance between conservation and sustainable use of forest resources, forest management optimization, forest information systems, ecosystem services, forest carbon, and climate change response.

Participants who wish to give an oral or poster presentation are requested to submit an abstract using the designated SFEM 2026 abstract template. All participants are kindly asked to complete the registration form. The abstract template and registration form will be posted with this information note on the KSFMI website and should be submitted to the SFEM 2026 Secretariat unless otherwise instructed.

Note: The program is preliminary and may be adjusted as the symposium preparation proceeds.
